Manchester United are not giving up on their pursuit of signing Bryan Mbeumo and the latest reports indicate that the talks are progressing with Brentford.

As per today’s edition of The Daily Record, the headline states ‘United out to wrap up £65m Bry’.

The media outlet have mentioned that after getting a bid worth £62.5million rejected, the Red Devils are confident that they will be able to get the deal done.

The Record state that Brentford want £65million and the negotiations are going on over payment structures.

According to Manchester Evening News today, Newcastle United have agreed a deal worth £55million to sign former red devil, Anthony Elanga, from Nottingham Forest.

The deal will help Manchester United earn £8million and the sum would push to finally seal the signing of Bryan Mbeumo from the Bees.

The Cameroonian international was in world class form for London club in the last campaign and only proven quality stars like Mohamed, Salah, Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland scored more goals than him in the Premier League.

Man Utd have had serious goalscoring concerns over the past few years, which is why it is not surprising to see them press for Mbeumo, who netted 20 goals in the league last term.

The 25-year-old cause havoc in the attacking third from the right wing under Thomas Frank and also dropped back to help the team defend.

Therefore, if he moves to Old Trafford, Amorim may use him as a right midfielder in his preferred 3-4-2-1 system.

Let’s hope United get the deal over the line now that the pre-season is about to start.
