Angry Students Set Principal's House Ablaze in Benue for 'Failing to Register' Them for NECO After Collecting Money

The students alleged that the principal failed to register them for the 2025 National Examinations Council, NECO examination, despite having collected N85,000 from each of the 178 students.

Some aggrieved final-year students of Gyutiev Model College in Saghev Ward, Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, have allegedly set fire to the residence of their principal, Mr. Isaac Yina.

The incident, according to reports, occurred in the early hours of Friday.

The students alleged that the principal failed to register them for the 2025 National Examinations Council, NECO examination, despite having collected N85,000 from each of the 178 students.

When contacted by Newsmen, the Public Relations Officer of the Benue State Police Command, Udeme Edet, stated that she had not yet received the report.

She, however, assured our correspondent that “when I find out, I will let you know.”
