Singer and comedian Lawal Michael, popularly known as Nasboi, has gotten tongues wagging on social media after he kicked off a 36-day campaign aimed at securing a music collaboration with Afrobeats superstar Davido.

Nasboi announced on Instagram his plan to kneel daily across Nigeria’s 36 states, starting from Osun State, the home state he shares with Davido.

On Thursday, he moved to Kano State, marking the second day of his public appeal for a verse from the artist he calls “001.”

He wrote: “In 2019, I started mimicking Davido to get his attention for my music, but the videos blew me up as a comedian.. (Gods plan)

“I am back to plea with 001. Bless me with a verse for this song king.

“I will be kneeling across 36 states for 36 days. I pray this dream comes to pass. Please as a fan of nasboi, just tag @davido everyday when you see the post….Day 001 Osun state, 35 states to go”

Nasboi’s journey began in 2019 when he mimicked Davido’s voice and mannerisms in skits titled “Low Budget OBO” to promote his music.

The videos catapulted him to fame as a comedian, leading to acting roles through characters like Akpan and Ikechukwu.

Despite his comedic success, Nasboi has pursued music with tracks like “Small Money,” “Short Skirt,” and the viral “Umbrella” featuring Wande Coal.
