Kenneth Okonkwo's exit a relief - Labour Party

The National Publicity Secretary of the Labour Party, LP, Abayomi Arabambi, says the exit of Kenneth Okonkwo was a good riddance for the party as it plans to unseat the present administration come 2027.

Arabambi stated this on Wednesday during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, adding that the party remains firm.

His statement came after Okonkwo’s resignation letter on Tuesday, where the former party spokesperson cited the party as being non-existent as a major reason for him pursuing his political career elsewhere.

“And we wish Mr Kenneth Okonkwo well, his resignation is good riddance to bad rubbish. He should not speak about the Labour Party anymore

“There is no leadership crisis in the Labour Party. Labour Party is not going into extinction. It is just a figment of the imaginations of most of our detractors,” Arabambi said.

According to him, the Nollywood actor-turned politician has been in collusion with the ruling party as his loyalty was never with the Labour Party.

“The APC man has been working with President Tinubu before, that is Kenneth Okonkwo, he worked against Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar in the 2023 elections. We wish him well and we will meet in 2027,” he added.

The LP Publicity Secretary reiterated that the party will not tolerate any form of political rascality, saying proactive steps were in place to weed out those who have loyalties elsewhere.
