Nigeria's Road to CHAN 2024 Glory Begins with Tricky Group Stage Draw

The Nigerian home-based Super Eagles have been placed in Group D of the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) alongside defending champions Senegal, Congo, and Sudan. The draw ceremony took place at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Nairobi, Kenya, setting the stage for the highly anticipated tournament as reported by Newsmen.

This marks the Super Eagles’ return to the biennial competition after a six-year absence, generating renewed enthusiasm among fans and stakeholders. The team’s inclusion in Group D is expected to present a challenging yet exciting opportunity for the Nigerian side.

The 2024 CHAN tournament will feature 18 teams divided into three groups, with the competition being co-hosted by Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. In addition to Group D, the other groupings are as follows: Group A consists of Kenya, Morocco, Democratic Republic of Congo, and Zambia, while Group B comprises Tanzania, Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and Central African Republic.

Group C, meanwhile, includes co-hosts Uganda, Niger, and Guinea, with two additional teams set to join the group at a later stage.
