Cow Milk: Infants under the age of one should not drink it because it can be difficult for them to digest. The best milk sources are breast milk or formula because cow’s milk lacks some of the minerals such iron and vitamin E that babies require to grow and develop throughout their first year of life.

However, at about eight months, most doctors may allow whole milk yogurt and maybe even a single whole milk drink. Whole cow’s milk is okay in moderation once your baby turns one year old. Keep an eye out for any signs of a milk allergy or intolerance.

Honey: The first year of a baby’s life is off-limits to honey or anything made with honey due to the possibility of Clostridium botulinum spores. Fruit Juice: Fruit juice might stifle a baby’s sensitive demand for formula or breast milk; which should be the foundation of their nutrition during their first year of life. Too much juice can also lead to ongoing digestive issues including diarrhea and tooth damage.

Babies under a year old should not be given any fruit juice at all. Juice should only be given from a cup and in tiny amounts during the day even after they turn one year old. Avoid giving juice at bedtime.
