Comedian Mr Macaroni has slammed Christian Twitter users offended by his post calling out a clergyman.
Few days ago, a video of a clergyman, Apostle Arome berating a church for using the platform of a ”strange comedian’ to advertise a church programme went viral. In the video, Apostle Arome said the ”strange comedian’ whose name he did not mention
”Somebody says he wants to advertise a church meeting. Then he gets an obviously strange comedian whose philosophy about life is advertising lust in brilliant ways….then you are advertising a church meeting and because it is about marketing, it is about the numbers, it is about the likes, it is about the online community that can be reached.. so a church meeting can be advertised on a platform that had been built on an altar of lust.. so when you see the principles that can be employed, then we know what you are pregnant with. whether it is God that impregnated you or whether something else responsible”.
Hours after the video went viral, Mr Macaroni in a post shared on his X handle called out a ”strange pastor” who according to him his preaching is built on half truths. Without mentioning any name, Mr Macaroni said the ”strange pastor” is pregnant with ”lies and deceit”. He argued that he uses his content to teach, inform and educate the society. He argued that it’s okay if the ”strange pastor’ does not see that his content are an imitation of life but that what he will not have is for anyone to reduce his brand to the limited perversion of their ”strange mind”.
Some Nigerians on Twitter immediately called him out for referring to the clergyman as ”Strange pastor”. They stated that he was referring to no other person but Apostle Arome.
Reacting to their criticism, Mr Macaroni apologized to them but went on to add that it will not be well with them. He argued that a Pastor can call a comedian ”Strange” but the stranger cannot return the favour.
